Rumors: Gorilla has reached verbal agreements with KOI to join as head coach

The French organization KOI has not had the most successful competitive season, and rumors suggest that changes are coming for the team. Recently, the well-known portal Sheep Esports reported that the team is planning to sign a new head coach.

According to sources from the portal, the team is currently in negotiations with British coach Harry "Gorilla" Mepham, who is still listed as the head coach of Team Vitality. Interestingly, KOI already has a head coach, André "BARBARR" Möller, but rumors suggest he is set to be replaced by the British coach.

KOI's Performance This Season

At the beginning of 2024, the organization unveiled a renewed Valorant roster. This was made possible after the merger of KOI, Movistar Riders, and MAD Lions into one organization. However, despite their confidence, the team has not achieved significant success this season, and all international tournaments ended in early exits. VCT 2024: EMEA Kickoff brought the team a 6th place finish, preventing them from qualifying for Masters Madrid. VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 1 ended with an 11th place finish, which also caused the club to miss Masters Shanghai. The recent VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 2 also resulted in an 11th place finish, which means the team did not qualify for the World Championship.

For now, the information about KOI's new head coach remains at the rumor level, but considering Sheep Esports' sources, it can be assumed that an official announcement might be coming soon.
