Rumors: Former The Guard players found a new organization to participate in the VCT Americas League

Immediately, two former players of The Guard organization, Trent "trent" Cairns and Jacob "valyn" Batio, posted a well-known picture with a signed contract on their official social media Twitter pages, which most players publish before official statements to intrigue fans.

The Guard organization secured a slot in the VCT Americas League 2024-2025, having won the VCL Ascension: Americas 2023. However, due to the organization not meeting the requirements of Riot Games, it was stripped of its place in the league, and the players became free agents, to whom the organizers provided an opportunity to find a new club to participate.

Most likely, these publications imply that the players have found the same organization that is ready to sign them so they can participate in the next season of the American league. Currently, there is no information on whether the players will make changes in their roster, or continue to play with the roster they played under The Guard banner.

The roster of the former The Guard team:

  • Jonah "JonahP" Pulice
  • Michael "neT" Bernet
  • Ian "tex" Botsch
  • Trent "trent" Cairns
  • Jacob "valyn" Batio
  • Josh "JoshRT" Lee (head coach)

G2 Esports is the main candidate to sign these guys. According to rumors spread by the portal blix.gg, the organization has already received verbal agreement from some players. However, the final decision on G2 Esports' participation in the next season of the highest American league will be made by Riot Games.
