Riot Games officially announces the first Valorant tournaments on gaming consoles

Valorant's release on gaming consoles happened not too long ago, but the game has already gained incredible popularity among the PS5 and Xbox communities. Due to this success, Riot Games has announced a series of three tournaments for all Valorant console players who wish to participate.

The first tournament, Ignition, will have two stages of open qualifiers from September 6-7 and September 13-14, with the event finals taking place from September 21-22. The open qualifiers will follow a single-elimination format, and the best teams from both stages will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete for the championship title. The tournament winners will receive exclusive limited-edition figurines, of which only 15 exist worldwide, as well as exclusive posters. To learn how to register for the tournament, visit the official website.

The dates for the next two events are unknown, but the word "October" can be seen censored in the image, which suggests that the next two tournaments will likely take place in the same month.

Just a month after the game’s console release, Riot Games is already announcing the first tournament, which speaks volumes about the shooter's popularity. While these events are currently open to all players, it's possible that in the future, competitions will be held exclusively for professional players.
