Riot Games has released statistics on the fundraising efforts of its charitable fund for the year 2023. Thanks to community engagement, over $4.5 million was raised throughout the year, earmarked for non-profit organizations addressing critical issues such as climate change, education, gender inequality, and more.
The majority of the funds were generated through in-game purchases in Riot Games titles, including Valorant. Specifically, Valorant hosted a series of charitable events this year, allowing players to acquire special skins and sets, with a portion of the proceeds directed to the fund. It can be assumed that a significant portion of the allocated funds was collected through Valorant, particularly due to the sales of championship skins.
This is not the first time Riot Games has organized charitable initiatives. In 2022, the fund raised over $5.5 million, which was directed to support organizations affected by the pandemic.
Riot Games remains committed to supporting charitable initiatives and plans to continue fundraising for important social projects in the future.
