Another matchday at VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff has concluded, revealing two teams that have officially ended their run for Masters Bangkok. One of the biggest upsets of the tournament came on February 1, as Paper Rex failed to defeat DetonatioN FocusMe, a team with one of the lowest win rates in VCT history.

The day started with an unexpectedly intense match, making it one of the most memorable showdowns in the Pacific region. The battle between Nongshim RedForce and Rex Regum Qeon made history, featuring an exhausting 42-round game on the second map, setting a new record for this tournament. The tension remained high until the very end, but NSR managed to close out the series 2:1.

DetonatioN FocusMe vs Paper Rex

DetonatioN FocusMe didn’t just defeat Paper Rex—they completely dominated them on Pearl, winning with a stunning 13:1 scoreline. Moving on to Abyss, DFM sealed the series with a 13:10 victory on their map pick. This shocking result means that Paper Rex, one of the favorites to qualify for Masters Bangkok, is now eliminated and will have to wait for Stage 1 to redeem themselves.

VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff runs from January 18 to February 9 in LAN format at Colosseum Sangam in Seoul, South Korea. Twelve partnered teams from VCT Pacific are competing for two spots at Masters Bangkok and crucial Pacific Points, which are key for Champions 2025 qualification.
