NORTHEPTION Pepper announces retirement from Valorant

On August 6, 2024, Pepper from the NORTHEPTION team announced his retirement from esports in Valorant.

At 28 years old, Pepper began his esports career in 2016, joining the Overwatch scene. He played for top Japanese teams like USG Supreme and Libalent Supreme, and participated in international tournaments. In November 2017, he announced his departure from Overwatch and then switched to the PUBG scene. In May 2020, he transitioned to Valorant.

In Valorant, Pepper played for teams such as Sengoku Gaming, IGZIST, DetonatioN FocusMe, and VARREL, and joined NORTHEPTION in December 2023. In the VCJ 2024 Split 1, he secured 4th place, achieving several significant victories in his career. However, in Split 2, he initially left the starting lineup but returned later, with the team finishing in last place after a 1-6 record.

In his X account, he stated:

Sorry for the late announcement, but I have decided to fully retire from VALORANT in Split 2. A big thank you to everyone who supported me, including the team and players!

Details about Pepper future are yet to be revealed. In his X message, he mentioned that his exact future plans are still undecided. However, he intends to share his Valorant experience and knowledge in accessible ways and hopes for continued support from his fans.
