Mexican footballer Santiago Giménez becomes a co-owner of Reta Esports in Valorant

It was recently announced that Feyenoord footballer Santiago Giménez has acquired the Valorant team Reta Esports. This is not the first instance of a football star purchasing a Valorant club. He will be a co-owner of the organization alongside Raul Jimenez and Tecatito Corona.

Reta Esports revealed its Valorant roster in early 2023. Throughout the season, the team participated in the VCL LAN ACE series for the first and second splits. Unfortunately, their participation did not lead to success, and Reta Esports failed to qualify for the VCT 2023: Ascension Americas, missing the opportunity to showcase their team on the Brazilian scene.

After a disappointing first half of the season, the team ceased its activities and was absent from the Valorant scene for six months. Now, with the organization's improved financial position, it is evident that they will resume their operations in the near future.

Not long ago, after the acquisition of two Brazilian players, Murillo “murizzz” Tuchtenhagen and Miguel “snw” Marcondes, the team's coach under the alias WKN gave an interview to VALORANT Zone, expressing the team's readiness to win Ascension Americas this season with the aim of entering the franchise in 2025.

The organization has enriched itself both in terms of the gaming roster and finances, with an influx of funds expected following the acquisition by Mexican footballer Santiago Giménez.
