Major changes in the coaching staff of Gen.G Esports for Valorant

The Korean organization Gen.G Esports had fully formed its gaming roster by the end of 2023, so no new players are expected in the near future. However, it was announced today that the club's management has demoted head coach Kim 'HSK' Hae-seong, appointing Kang 'solo' Keun-chul in his place.

In their official Twitter account, the team's management announced major changes. It was revealed that the head coach Kim 'HSK' Hae-seong is moving to the position of Head of Strategy, while the team is signing Kang 'solo' Keun-chul as the new head coach. The management has not commented on the reasons for these changes, but it should be noted that the team's performance last season was quite high, so it is unlikely that this is due to a failure to meet their objectives.

Please welcome Kang 'solo' Keun-chul, who is the newly appointed head coach of Gen.G VALORANT! With this announcement, Kim 'HSK' Hae-seong will take on the role of Head of Strategy. We hope you will support both of our leaders!

As we mentioned earlier, the achievements of Kim 'HSK' Hae-seong as head coach are significant. Under his leadership, the club finished 4th in the regular season of VCT 2023: Pacific League and also placed 3rd-4th at the off-season Convergence 2023. Meanwhile, the new head coach Kang 'solo' Keun-chul previously managed the club Dplus, which showed an incredible result in 2023. The team won both stages of VALORANT Challengers 2023: Korea, but failed at the main tournament Ascension Pacific.

It is still unclear who will perform better as the head coach, but judging by experience and performance, the replacement seems to be a mistake. We will be following the team's progress in the VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff, which will start in just two weeks.
