Gen.G Esports had a somewhat unsuccessful season. The team secured only one podium finish in the VCT 2023: Pacific League regional league. Meanwhile, they finished in 3rd place in the qualifiers for the World Championship, as a result of which the team missed out on the main event. Following this, the organization completely disbanded its lineup and began creating an entirely new team.

Kim will be a great addition to the Korean team. The seasoned player has been competing on the professional Valorant scene since 2020 and has been part of many prestigious clubs. His most successful season was in 2021 when he, alongside NUTURN Gaming, secured 2nd place in Korea Stage 1 Masters, and 3rd place in Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík.
