Player Savva "Kr1stal" Fedorov will be the first to compete in the VCT Ascension tournament twice in a single season. On Saturday, he will play for the Night Wings Gaming team against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the open group stage of the VCT Ascension CN tournament.

Earlier in the season, Kr1stal played for the Japanese team SCARZ, with which he won VCL Japan Split 2. This victory allowed the team to represent the JP region at the Ascension tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand. At Ascension, SCARZ took second place, losing to Bleed Esports in the finals. Kr1stal was one of the top players in the tournament, with an average rating of 1.14 VLR.

After the tournament, Kr1stal joined the Chinese team Night Wings Gaming, which earned enough points during the China Evolution Series to secure a spot in the Ascension CN event.

In the Night Wings Gaming group are also Rare Atom, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and KeepBest Gaming. The eleventh team in VCT CN will be determined on Sunday after the conclusion of the grand final, which will take place in Shanghai, China.
