"I couldn't achieve what I wanted" - River leaves Dsyre GC after an unsuccessful season

Well-known star of the Turkish women's scene Irmak "River" Peküz shared sad news with fans today. After an unsuccessful VCT 2023 season, she has decided to leave her current team but plans to continue her journey in Valorant.

In her official Twitter account, Irmak "River" Peküz spoke positively about her farewell to the club. She noted that despite the disappointing result, she remains spirited and highly motivated to give her 100% in the upcoming competitive season.

Hello! I want to share my plans for the future. I am very ready for 2024 and am currently looking for a new organization, in the role of a free agent. 2023 was not as I expected, and I couldn't achieve what I wanted. But despite this, I want to achieve it in 2024. I enjoy playing the Duelist role the most.

It's worth mentioning that River has been in some of the best women's clubs in the world for a long time. At the end of 2022, she played for NAVI Celestials, with whom she won 3rd place at VCT 2022: Game Changers EMEA Series 3. After that, she moved to another well-known club, FUT Female, with which she won VCT 2023: Game Changers EMEA Contenders Series 1. In her last stint with the lesser-known club Dsyre GC, she had a disappointing finish at VCT 2023: Game Changers EMEA Stage 3, placing 15-16th.

As of now, it is unknown where River plans to go, but we will likely find out about her new club no earlier than 2024. This is because, after the end of the women's world championship, interesting changes in women's teams are expected, raising the possibility that Irmak will join a tier-1 team again.
