Gen.G Esports, a top-4 team in the Korean Valorant scene, is now fully prepared for the new season. Today, representatives of Gen.G Esports officially announced on their Twitter account that the last player has joined the club, completing the Valorant roster.
The final fifth player to join the team is the relatively unknown Korean player Kim "Karon" Won-tae, who previously performed successfully in tier-3 scenes. The organization modestly welcomed the new player, but fans have mixed feelings about it. They believe his addition will be a challenging endeavor for the club, mainly due to his limited experience in international competitions.
This piece of the puzzle is so good that it will complete the team and become a new element for the new season.
Who? Honestly, this nameless player doesn't inspire much hope.
As we mentioned above, Kim "Karon" Won-tae is a little-known Korean player who, during his career, only played for one tier-3 team - No No No. With them, the rookie won WCG OPEN KR #3 and later secured 3rd place at Valorant Challengers 2023: Korea Split 2 - Open Qualifier. This suggests that the newcomer is very promising, showing such results early in his career.
Since September this year, Gen.G Esports started assembling a new Valorant lineup. After the team failed to qualify for the World Championship, all players were released, and today, the organization completed the formation of a new roster, on which they have high hopes. The team is looking forward to Convergence 2023, starting December 14th, to see how the new lineup of Korean tops performs.
