On April 18, G2 Esports and MIBR played the final matches of the group stage along with Cloud9 and FURIA. The victories of G2 Esports and MIBR in their respective matches guaranteed them first and second place in the Omega group at VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1, which gives them a seeding advantage in the playoff stage.

G2 Esports vs Cloud9

The game day began with a match between G2 Esports and Cloud9, where first place in the Omega group was at stake, granting direct advancement to the second round of the playoffs. This means the team would only need to win one more game to qualify for Masters Toronto.

Despite the obvious favorite in the form of G2 Esports, Cloud9 showed a worthy performance and had every chance to come out victorious. Although Icebox (Cloud9’s pick) was an easy ride for G2 Esports (13:5), Cloud9 managed to regroup and take revenge on G2 Esports' pick — Haven, winning it even more decisively — 5:13. Everything was decided on the third and final map — Pearl, where the teams showed an equal game, and the winner in the form of G2 Esports was determined by a one-round difference — 13:11. Final score — 2:1. This is the fifth win out of five for G2 Esports in the Omega group.

MIBR vs FURIA

The result of this match, after the G2 Esports win, no longer had tournament significance: MIBR had already secured a playoff spot from 2nd–3rd place, while FURIA lost any chance of continuing in the tournament.

As in the first match of the day, three maps were needed to determine the winner. Icebox (MIBR’s pick) was an easy ride for them — 13:4, but Ascent (FURIA’s pick) was not so one-sided: in the first half, FURIA showed complete domination, winning it 10:2. However, MIBR managed to stage a comeback, taking six rounds in a row, but the victory still went to FURIA. Split — the deciding map — was confidently won by MIBR, finishing the match with a score of 2:1.

VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 is held from March 21 to May 4 in a LAN format at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. Twelve partnered teams of VCT Americas compete for three invitations to Masters Toronto, as well as for Americas Points, which determine the teams that qualify for Champions 2025.
