Fnatic Chronicle on their defeat at VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai: "They just played better than us"

Fnatic concluded their run at the international Valorant tournament VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai after losing to FUT Esports with a score of 2-1 in the playoff matches.

On the 8th day of the tournament's playoffs, FUT Esports secured a victory over Fnatic, forcing the latter to exit the competition. Following this defeat, Fnatic representative, Chronicle, provided a comment on the reasons for their failure in an interview with Esports.gg.

Fnatic, the winner of VCT 2024 EMEA Stage 1 and the top seed at Masters Shanghai, found themselves in an unexpected situation, suffering two consecutive defeats and exiting the tournament. Chronicle noted that the team was confident in their abilities against FUT but acknowledged that the opponent managed to outperform them on the battlefield.

After a successful victory on the first map, Split, Fnatic lost on the next one, Haven, and concluded their performance on the final map, Ascent, with a crushing defeat of 13-3. Chronicle emphasized that besides fundamental errors in the game, the team failed to cope with the individual mastery of FUT players.

Following the game, Fnatic members expressed their disappointment, but Chronicle highlighted the importance of internal team support and stated their intention to focus on future tournaments.

They just played better than us, not because of a very good game plan, but individually. We couldn't trade or do basic things. And I, for example, just went into the round to die in the smokes or from a wallbang.

Fnatic faced difficulties on the international stage this year, failing to qualify for Masters Madrid and exiting VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai without victories. Is it possible for the team to rehabilitate and demonstrate their potential in Stage 2?
