FENNEL completed their penultimate match in the group stage of VALORANT Challengers Japan 2024: Split 1, a result that secured the team a spot in the semi-finals before all matches were finished.
Having been considered one of the leaders of this tournament due to their results last season, FENNEL managed to live up to their status and earned a place in the semi-finals of the playoffs stage before the conclusion of all group stage matches.
The team played 6 matches and won each one, allowing them to lead the leaderboard and secure a seeding in the semi-finals of the playoffs, even before the end of the group stage. Here is the coach's comment after the victory in the last match against NORTHEPTION:
We should have closed it out 2-0 on SPLIT, but somehow we decided to give away 3v2 and 5v4 situations on mistakes we've gone over dozens of times. We finish the group stage in first place and advance to the semi-finals. The playoffs will be offline, around March 13th.Ivan "Johnta" Shevtsov
The playoffs stage will begin on March 12th, and according to FENNEL's head coach, it will take place offline. The final matches of the group stage are tomorrow, after which all participants will be known.
