During the open qualifiers for Valorant Challengers 2024 Indonesia: Split 1, a cheater was detected

A curious situation recently occurred at the official qualifier tournament for Valorant Challengers 2024 Indonesia: Split 1 - Open Qualifier. According to VALO2ASIA, one of the tournament participants was found to be using cheats, which only became known towards the end of the qualifiers.

Let's recall that just yesterday the open qualifiers for the first stage of Valorant Challengers 2024 Indonesia: Split 1 concluded. 33 teams fought for 8 invitations to the closed qualifiers, from which they could advance to the main tournament. During the open qualifiers, the little-known team Tokyo Revengers was noticed engaging in unfair play, which was later confirmed by the team members themselves. The first to report this information was commentator Rere “Bredel” Bintoro, who posted a photo on his Instagram account. It showed a folder with software for audio peripherals, but in reality, it contained cheats.

It became known that the suspicions were related to a player with the nickname Mica, and later they were confirmed. A representative of the Tokyo Revengers team confirmed that the cheats were indeed on the computer, but the player himself did not use them. Also, he later reported that although Mica had been caught with cheats in the past, he is not using them currently.

Interestingly, the tournament organizers didn't even need to intervene and ban the dishonest team. Tokyo Revengers eventually lost to the Dominatus team and left the tournament. We will be waiting for an official response from Riot Games regarding the dishonest player and his future in official tournaments.
