DRX finish group stage undefeated - Results of the final day of VCT Pacific 2024: Stage 1

Yesterday marked the end of the fourth and final week of the VCT Pacific 2024: Stage 1 group stage. On the last day of play, two matchups determined the standings for the upcoming playoff stage.

The first match was between Bleed Esports and DRX, and the outcome was quite predictable. The Korean tops had already secured four consecutive victories, making it clear that they had no intentions of stopping. As a result, DRX clinched two victories on Bind with a score of 13-9 and later on Breeze with a score of 13-4. This allowed the team to emerge as the main favorite of their group with a record of 5-0, advancing directly to the upper bracket semifinals in the playoffs.

In the second match, we saw a clash between Gen.G Esports and Rex Regum Qeon, which stretched over three maps. The first map, Breeze, was predictably won by the favorites from Gen.G Esports, who decimated their opponents with a score of 13-3. However, after such a poor start, Rex Regum Qeon turned the game around and secured two hard-fought victories with scores of 13-11 on Ascent and 13-10 on Split. Despite this, the team did not accumulate enough points, so Gen.G Esports, despite losing the match, still advanced to the playoffs.

Remember that VCT Pacific 2024: Stage 1 is taking place from April 6 to May 12, 2024. Eleven partner teams from the Pacific region are competing for three invitations to the upcoming Masters Shanghai, as well as three Pacific Points, which are necessary to qualify for the world championship.
