The off-season brings a multitude of tournaments to the Valorant competitive scene, and the women's league is no exception. Yesterday marked the end of the first qualifying stage for The Cozy Clash 2023, resulting in the team Disguised GC securing the first slot for the upcoming tournament.
The team's head coach, Jake "POACH" Brumleve, praised his players as Disguised GC triumphed in the final over a team that had managed to beat Complexity GX3, the top contenders of the American scene and co-organizers of the tournament. This means that the opponents were not to be underestimated.
A solid 2-0 performance against NwT. Not a single lost map against a team that managed to knock Complexity GX3 into the lower bracket, earning a direct invitation to The Cozy Clash with a $50,000 prize pool. See you at the LAN final in December!
The match for the main event spot took place against the lesser-known team Never Woulda Thought and was played on two maps. On Split, the Disguised GC girls effortlessly dominated their opponents with a twofold advantage. In the next map, Split, a more evenly matched battle ensued. NWT dominated the first half, but Disguised GC managed to take control and secured a 13-11 victory in the match.
As a result of the match, Disguised GC receives the first invitation to the upcoming The Cozy Clash 2023. The tournament itself will take place from December 15 to 17, in a LAN format in the USA. The 4 best teams from the qualifiers will compete for a total prize pool of $40,000. The tournament is organized by Complexity Gaming with sponsorship from Lenovo Legion.
