Cloud9 Decides Not to Continue with Current Head Coach

Matthew "mCe" Elmore, the head coach of the American team Cloud9, announced on his Twitter account that the organization has decided to move forward without him. As of the time of writing this article, there is no official comment from the organization.

Unfortunately, Cloud9 has chosen not to continue collaborating with me. I am open to considering any options, be it as a head coach or assistant coach, or even a collegiate coach if the situation is mutually beneficial. I am also willing to relocate.

Current Cloud9 roster

Matthew "mCe" Elmore joined Cloud9 on October 17, 2022, with the goal to prepare the team for the first international tournament VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo and the regional league where teams vied for a sole ticket to the World Championship and Masters tournament. However, the start proved to be difficult: in Brazil, the team only won one match and finished in 9-16th place. They fared better in the league but fell just one step short of securing a spot at the Masters. The team finished in 4th place and had to participate in the last chance tournament where a single ticket to the World Championship was at stake. In this tournament, they finished in 3rd place, failing to qualify for Valorant Champions 2023.

We remind you that the organization is withholding comments and announcements about parting ways with the head coach. This can foster assumptions that his departure is not related to low results or incompatibility with the team, but might have other reasons such as conflicts or other negative circumstances.
