Cloud9 and KRU Esports start with wins at VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1

The first two matches of VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1 have taken place, delivering results that defied expectations and made the games even more exciting. Here’s a breakdown of each match.

Cloud9 vs. NRG Esports

The most thrilling matchup was between Cloud9 and NRG Esports. Aside from the unexpected result, the game was also affected by a bug involving agent Tejo—his Guided Salvo (E) ability failed to recharge within 40 seconds. As a result, the pistol round on the second map had to be replayed. Initially, NRG Esports won the pistol round, but this advantage wasn't enough to secure victory on the map or in the series. Cloud9 emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

KRU Esports staged a comeback from 4-8 down and secured a 13-10 win, taking the series 2-1.
