Chinese police neutralize a group distributing AI cheats for Valorant

Today, the news portal VALO2ASIA reported intriguing news related to the distribution of third-party software in the shooter by Riot Games. According to the Twitter account, Chinese police arrested 10 people who were selling cheats based on artificial intelligence for Valorant.

As the portal reports, the Public Security Bureau announced this on the Chinese equivalent of Twitter - Weibo. According to their information, this is the first case of punishment for distributing cheats based on artificial intelligence. On September 15th, 10 individuals involved in creating and selling the third-party software were arrested, with the total revenue from their sales amounting to 30 million yuan, or 4.1 million dollars.

It should be noted that bots in Valorant are one of the game's main issues. Dishonest players use them to boost rankings and level up accounts. Although Riot Games has been successful in dealing with regular bots, as they reported that from August 25th to September 18th, 39,000 accounts were blocked. Dealing with AI-based bots is more challenging. A few months ago, we published an article discussing existing bots and players' experiences with them. We also recently wrote about how an ordinary player programmed an AI-based bot, and as a result, in just two days, the bot went from an Iron to Platinum rank. Read more about it in our article.
