Cal joins GTZ Esports to replace sh4wq

Less than a month ago, the Portuguese organization GTZ Esports introduced an updated roster for Valorant, and today the first changes are taking place. French player Lucas "sh4wq" Bourrez is leaving the team, and British professional Callum "Cal" Burgoyne is being invited to replace him.

This news was announced by team representatives in their official Twitter account. The club's management explains that it's time to say goodbye to one player, but there's no need to be sad because a replacement has already been found. The team says farewell to Lucas and thanks him for his short contribution to the team's history, while at the same time welcoming Callum and hoping he will bring new victories to the team.

Today we announce the departure of our player Lucas "sh4wq" Bourrez from the Valorant team. We wish you luck in the future, and also welcome the player who will take your place! It's Callum "Cal" Burgoyne.

As we wrote above, Lucas "sh4wq" Bourrez joined the team just a few months ago, so the reason for such a quick farewell is only one. The team's unsuccessful results in the Challengers League 2024 Portugal Tempest: Split 1, where the team lost 7 matches in a row, and is currently in last place in the tournament table. In turn, Callum "Cal" Burgoyne is an experienced British player who, as part of his previous team K10, won four tier-3 tournaments last season. Therefore, his replacement in the club may correct GTZ Esports' poor situation in the current tournament.

Remember, the first matches of the sixth game day in the Challengers League 2024 Portugal Tempest: Split 1 will start in a few minutes. So, we will be following GTZ Esports to find out if the replacement will help the team advance to the playoff stage.
