The competitive season from Riot Games is just beginning, but ahead of us are many exciting tier-1 and tier-2 tournaments. It was recently announced that Valorant Challengers 2024 Indonesia is coming, and the first two teams to receive direct invitations to the upcoming tournament are BOOM Esports and Alter Ego.
Valorant Challengers 2024 Indonesia: Split 1 is the first stage of the competitive season in the tier-2 league in Indonesia. The tournament will take place from February 3rd to March 31st in an online format. Six teams will compete for a total prize pool of $15,000, as well as invitations to the second stage directly, or to open qualifications. As announced by the organizers, the first known participants in the upcoming event are BOOM Esports and Alter Ego. These teams have received direct invitations, while other participants will need to qualify for the tournament through closed qualifications.
The choice of teams that received direct invitations is quite logical, considering their achievements last season. BOOM Esports won first and second place in the two last year's splits of VALORANT Challengers 2023: Indonesia. Alter Ego, in turn, took third place in the second stage and later again took third place at Predator League Indonesia 2024.
Besides the two aforementioned teams, the next participants are still unknown. Open qualifications will begin soon, after which it will be clear who will fight with the favorites for important points and a pleasant prize pool.
