Barça eSports won at VCL 2024 Spain Split 2

From May to July 2024, the VCL 2024 Spain Split 2 tournament was held in Valencia, Spain, where the Barça eSports team, owned by the football club FC Barcelona, claimed victory. In the final, they defeated UCAM Esports Club with a score of 3-2, securing a spot in the EMEA Ascension tournament.

FC Barcelona, known for its success in traditional football, is also actively developing in esports. In 2019, the club began exploring the esports arena, and by the end of 2023, it had entered the competitive Valorant scene.

To participate in the Spanish Challengers league, the club signed contracts with five experienced players as well as coaching staff. In the first stage of VCL 2024, held from January to April, the team placed 6th out of 8, but in the second stage, they made significant progress, finishing the regular season with 11 wins and 3 losses, taking 2nd place.

In the playoffs, the Barça eSports team did not suffer a single defeat and met UCAM Esports Club again in the final, whom they had already beaten before. The final score of 3-2 in favor of Barça eSports confirmed their readiness for new challenges. The team is now preparing for the VCT EMEA Ascension 2024 tournament, which will be held in September in Berlin.
