ASUS sets new record with Valorant, reaching 1500 FPS with AMD 9800X3D processor

ASUS China CEO Tony Yu has set a new record, boosting the performance of Valorant to over 1500 FPS using the AMD 9800X3D processor under extreme overclocking conditions.

During a technical demonstration, Tony Yu was able to overclock the processor to 6.9 GHz, significantly surpassing the standard 5.2 GHz clock speed of this processor. To maintain stable temperatures, a liquid nitrogen cooling system was used, allowing the processor to operate at extremely low temperatures.

The testing was conducted on a high-end configuration:

  • RTX 4090 graphics card
  • 32 GB of DDR5-6000 RAM
  • ASUS ROG Crosshair X670 Gene motherboard

During gameplay, VALORANT consistently maintained a frame rate above 800 FPS, with peak moments exceeding 1500 FPS. This performance highlights not only the potential of the AMD 9800X3D processor but also the excellent optimization of Valorant for high-end systems, even with the upcoming transition to the UE5 engine.
