The competitive season in the top division of VCT has ended, but that doesn't mean there won't be any more important tournaments ahead. Soon, the Ascension series events will begin, where tier-2 teams will compete for a spot in the partner league for 2025. Below, we will provide detailed information about Ascension EMEA, the participating teams, and the tournament format.
Participants of Ascension EMEA
A total of 10 teams from various countries in the EMEA region will participate in the tournament. Some of them qualified for the event by winning the Split 2 event in their region, others by earning enough Circuit Points on their regional leaderboard, and one team through winning the Ascension EMEA Play-Ins qualifiers. The teams are divided into groups as follows:

Tournament Format
The tournament will be held in two stages. The group stage will take place from August 31 to September 4 in a Round-Robin format, where teams from each group will play against each other. All matches will be played in a best-of-three format, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will be held from September 7 to 15 in a Double-Elimination format, where a team that suffers two losses is eliminated from the tournament. Most matches will be played in a best-of-three format, but the lower bracket final and grand final will be best-of-five.
Ascension EMEA Prizes
The cash prize has not been announced yet, so either it will not be included, or the organizers will reveal it closer to the event's start. However, the main prize remains unchanged, with teams competing for a single slot in the EMEA League partner program for 2025.
