On September 16, the final stage of the qualification for the China Evolution Series Act 1: Variation concluded, specifically - China Evolution Series Act 1: Variation - Play-In from which the four best teams joined the other four teams that received direct invitations to this event.

The China Evolution Series Act 1: Variation is the first of three tournaments in the China Evolution Series. The eight teams will start competing for EVO Points from October 1, which are necessary for qualifying for VCT Ascension China (more details will be provided by Riot Games later).
