AEX-1 disbands its Valorant roster

Last night brought sad news for fans of the European Valorant scene. The Swiss team AEX-1, after an unsuccessful season, is completely disbanding its roster in Riot Games' shooter.

Interestingly, team representatives have yet to comment on this decision. Meanwhile, the two remaining players, as well as the head coach and analyst, announced on their official social networks that they are free agents from today. Leon "Leon" Roesberg, in particular, said a heartfelt goodbye to the team, expressing his gratitude in his Twitter account.

After my time with the team, I am now a free agent. I thank my teammates and coaches for the wonderful time spent and everything I learned at AEX-1. I want to continue learning, reach new heights, and show myself again in the next 2024 season.

It's worth recalling that the AEX-1 Valorant roster had been in a state of decay for some time. After the team failed both stages of the Valorant Challengers 2023 DACH: Evolution, finishing in 6th and 8th places, a series of changes began. The club replaced several players and bid farewell to members of the coaching staff. These changes did not help the club recover, and at the last Valorant Challengers 2023 DACH: Arcade, the players performed poorly, finishing the tournament in 6th place. After this, the team's fate was decided, and today the organization completely disbanded its roster.

Both players, as well as the coach and analyst, are ready to continue their journey in Valorant. They have all announced that they are looking for new clubs for the upcoming 2024 season. Meanwhile, the situation with AEX-1 remains unclear, as organization representatives have not commented on their decision. It's unknown whether the club plans to form a new roster for the upcoming season or perhaps leave the Valorant discipline altogether. During its existence, the club only brought in $8,650 in prize money.
