5 most successful Valorant teams

The competitive season on the professional Valorant scene is nearing its end, but it will conclude with the main event - the Valorant Champions 2023 World Championship. Until the team that will take the trophy and bear the title of champion for the entire next year is determined, we will tell you about the 5 most successful teams since the creation of the discipline.

We want to emphasize that some of the teams had a different lineup at the peak of their strength and popularity, so we will use the lineup that is remembered by all fans.

Our list opens with the famous Brazilian club and the current world champion – LOUD. The history of this team is interesting in that the gaming roster, which was created in January 2022, was made up of players who came to the team from different layers of the esports scene, tier-2 and tier-1 teams. The players had no previous experience playing together, so the newly formed quintet marked the creation of the team.

Despite the fact that the team members had no experience playing together, this did not affect their teamwork and determination. Two months after creation, the team successfully won the VCT 2022: Brazil Stage 1 Challengers, after which they took 2nd place at the VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavik. The second stage of VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters held in Copenhagen was not so successful for LOUD with an 11-12th place finish, but after 2 months no one doubted the Brazilians. At the 2022 World Championship, the team was head and shoulders above all opponents, reaching the grand final without a single defeat, and winning the championship with a score of 3-1 against OpTic Gaming.

This year, the team, despite a different lineup, took 2nd place at the VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, and later won the American stage VCT 2023: Americas League.

The team has been successful on the professional scene since its inception in February 2021 and has taken prize places at well-known tier-1 tournaments such as: VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavik – 2nd place and 4th place at VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen. The team managed to participate in two world championships in 2021 and 2022, the performances of which ended with 5-8th place in 2021 and 5-6th place in 2022. But real fame came to the team in 2023 when the current game roster was at its peak.

Star lineup of Fnatic

The season for the team started with a victory at the newly created tournament VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, where in the final Fnatic defeated the current world champions LOUD 3-2. But the “Oranges” did not intend to stop there, taking 2nd place at the VCT 2023: EMEA League. The team's main success was the victory at the VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, thanks to which the team established itself in the list of the most successful teams since the existence of the discipline.

The representatives of the Asian region, while not winning several known tournaments as the teams described above did, but Paper Rex participated in almost all the events of the discipline. The team was formed in July 2020 and since its creation has earned the title of Asian favorites. Starting from 2021, the team participated in most regional tournaments in the discipline and often took prize places. 2nd place at VCT 2021: Malaysia & Singapore Stage 2 Challengers 1, and two victories at the following stages of Stage 2 Challengers 2 and Stage 3 Challengers 3.

And the team is not only known for regional tournaments. In 2022, the team won the VCT 2022: APAC Stage 2 Challengers, thanks to which it received an invitation to VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen, where it won a silver medal for 2nd place. This year, the team did not start idling, despite the fact that the performance at VCT 2023: LOCK // IN São Paulo ended for Paper Rex with 17-32 place. The team fully recovered by winning the VCT 2023: Pacific League, and after that, took 3rd place at VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo. The team is looking forward to the world championship, so let's see if the Asian tops can show a high level.

The European team, which is now not having the best of times, was once considered one of the strongest in the region. The players confirmed this title by winning such events as: VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters, VCT 2021: Europe Stage 3 Challengers 1. The main achievement of the team is, of course, winning the Valorant Champions 2021 World Championship, thanks to which Acend made it to our list.

After winning the World Championship, the team's fighting spirit slightly faded. In 2022, Acend's achievements only include 2nd place in the tier-2 tournament Superdome. Although in the current year, the team started to recover with the aim of returning to the professional scene. The team in an updated lineup won two stages of VALORANT Challengers 2023 East: Surge Split 1 and Split 2. After which it took 3rd place at the important Valorant Challengers Ascension 2023: EMEA. Although they failed to win, the team is determined to return, so it will be interesting to follow them in the next season.

Our list ends with a sad story about a North American team that no longer exists, but we can't help but mention its merits in the professional scene. The OpTic Gaming team was formed in February 2022 and consisted of members of Team Envy, who were bought out by a new organization.

Star lineup of OpTic Gaming

From its creation to the moment of disbandment, the players of OpTic Gaming carried the unofficial title of silver champions. In 2022, the team participated in many tournaments, in most of which it took 2nd place. VCT 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers and the next stage Stage 2 Challengers ended for the team with a 2nd place. VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík brought the team the title of champion, and the next VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen ended with 3rd place. The main achievement and at the same time the main disappointment for the team was the world championship in 2022 - Valorant Champions 2022, where OpTic Gaming once again took 2nd place. After the end of Valorant Champions 2022, Riot Games announced that OpTic Gaming would not participate in the partner program for the next year, after which the team completely disbanded its lineup and ceased to exist.
