At the VCT Americas 2025 Kick-off tournament held in the United States, 100 Thieves suffered defeats against Sentinels and NRG, finishing in last place. The organization’s owner, Nadeshot, voiced his dissatisfaction with the tournament format on social media and during his stream.
Following the loss to NRG, he wrote on X:
My frustration aligns with what our fans are feeling. The VALORANT division of our team seems stuck in place. We need to make changes, or at this rate, we’re headed for failure.
However, his comments, which hinted at possible roster changes after just one tournament, sparked criticism from the community. Former NRG and OpTic Gaming player Marved offered support for the team, saying:
Please don’t give up. The players have everything they need to succeed.
Amid the backlash, Nadeshot clarified that his main frustration was not with the players but with the competition format:
Our last official VCT match was on July 19, 2024, and 191 days have passed since then. Half a year without seeing the players compete. The format needs to change.
My frustrations are the same as yours with our VALORANT team. Feels like we’re spinning our wheels in place. Got to find some solutions soon because it feels like we’re cruising at the same pace each year and it clearly isn’t working. Something’s gotta give.

The VCT Americas 2025 Kick-off ended for 100 Thieves in the first round of the lower bracket. However, the team still has Stage 1 to look forward to, which begins in March. They will compete for a spot at VCT 2025 Masters Toronto. The real question is whether Zikz can prepare the team for the challenges ahead in the remaining month and a half.
