The competitive season on the professional Valorant scene is coming to an end. After two qualifying tournaments and two Masters events, only the final stage of Stage 2 awaits us in each of the four regions. It starts earlier than the others in China, so today we will tell you in detail about the upcoming VCT 2025: China Stage 2.
General information about the tournament
VCT 2025: China Stage 2 is the third and final qualifying event on the Chinese stage. VCT partner teams are participating in it, competing for two direct invitations to Valorant Champions 2025, as well as China Points. The tournament is organized by Riot Games with the support of TJ Sports and Hero Esports.

Date and format of the event
VCT 2025: China Stage 2 will take place from July 3 to August 31 in LAN format in Shanghai at the VCT CN Arena. The event will be divided into two stages, the group stage and the playoffs.
Group stage
During the group stage, all 12 teams will be divided into two groups, Alpha and Omega, with six participants in each. They will compete against each other in best-of-three matches. The top four teams from each group will advance to the playoffs based on their results. The top team from each group will receive a slot in the upper bracket semifinals, the top two and three teams will advance to the first round of the upper bracket, and the top four teams will advance to the first round of the lower bracket. The two weakest teams from each group will be eliminated from the tournament.
Playoffs
In the next stage, the remaining 8 teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket, where 2 losses mean elimination from the tournament. All matches will be played to 3 wins, and the lower bracket final and grand final will be played to 5 wins.
Participating teams
All 12 teams from the VCT partner program will participate in the tournament. Below you can see how they are divided into 2 groups:

Favorites and underdogs
Before the event begins, we would also like to highlight a few teams that we believe will perform better or worse than others in the upcoming tournament.
Favorites
The clear favorites are EDward Gaming and Wolves Esports.
EDward Gaming are the reigning world champions and the strongest team in the region. Since the start of the season, they have won VCT 2025: China Kickoff and took 3rd place at Masters Bangkok 2025, where they defeated most of the world's top teams. In addition, the team easily earned a slot at EWC 2025.
Wolves Esports, on the other hand, was a fairly mediocre team in its region until recently, but a few months ago, everything changed. The team qualified for Masters Toronto 2025 and unexpectedly began to defeat favorites from other regions. During the tournament, Wolves reached the lower bracket final and finished in 3rd place, which immediately propelled the team to the top of its region.
Underdogs
We consider TYLOO and All Gamers to be the weakest teams at the event. Neither of them has qualified for any international events since the start of the season. Even the regional qualifiers China Kickoff and China Stage 1 ended with both teams in last place. This suggests that TYLOO and All Gamers cannot claim to be performing well within the Chinese region.
Tournament prizes
Unlike other regions, VCT 2025: China Stage 2 will not have a prize pool of $250,000. Teams will only compete for invitations to the world championship and China Points, which are necessary to qualify for it.
- 1st place – Invitation to Valorant Champions 2025, 7 China Points
- 2nd place – Invitation to Valorant Champions 2025, 5 China Points
- 3rd place – 4 China Points
- 4th place – 3 China Points
- 5th-6th place – No prizes
- 7th-8th place – No prizes
