The Longest Maps in the History of Valorant

Professional tournaments on Valorant bring together the strongest players who compete for a large prize pool. This is especially true of VCT events, where prize money amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the Valorant Champions main event reaches two million dollars. It is the cash prize, along with the desire to win, that motivates professionals not to give up and play each card to the best of their abilities. Because of this, the outcome of matches is often determined in additional rounds, instead of the usual thirteen. That's why today we have prepared an article for you in which we will tell you about the longest matches on the Valorant professional scene.

BBL Esports vs. Fire Flux Vatangame - 37 rounds

Our list opens with a match that took place back in 2021, during the closed qualifiers at the Valorant Champions Tour Turkey Stage 3: Challengers 1. In one of the matches, BBL Esports met Fire Flux Vatangame, and the incredibly intense battle on the third map Haven lasted for 37 rounds. The teams' passage to the main tournament was at stake, so it's no surprise that none of them wanted to give up.

As a result, BBL Esports qualified for the main tournament, while Fire Flux fell to the lower bracket, where they defeated İstanbul Wildcats and eventually qualified for VCT Turkey Stage 3: Challengers 1.

The next match in terms of the number of rounds took place in 2024 at VALORANT Challengers Japan 2024: Split 1. In the grand final of the tournament, Reject met FENNEL, and the match turned out to be one of the longest. Interestingly, in the semifinals, Reject won the fight and dropped the opponent's team into the lower bracket. But FENNEL players, in turn, did not give up, successfully passed through the loser to the grand final, and took revenge on their opponents on five maps, becoming the winner of the tournament. It was on the fourth map of the Breeze grand final that the teams fought so hard that it ended only after 38 rounds.

Sentinels vs. MIBR - 40 rounds

One of the newest matches on our list, which took place in 2025 just a few months ago. We are talking about the clash between Sentinels and MIBR as part of the first regional qualifiers of the Valoran Champions Tour 2025: Americas Kickoff. In the final of the lower bracket, MIBR tried to overcome Sentinels, and despite two defeats, the third map Pearl took to the extra rounds and won with a score of 21:19.

Unfortunately, even such an intense struggle did not help the team to comeback, and on the next Split map, they lost 7:13 and left the tournament, while Sentinels advanced to the grand final. Nevertheless, the match was remembered for a long time by viewers and commentators due to unforgettable emotions and intense struggle.

Nongshim RedForce vs. Rex Regum Qeon - 42 rounds

Another fresh 42-round match that took place at this year's Valoran Champions Tour 2025: Pacific Kickoff, featuring Nongshim RedForce vs. Rex Regum Qeon. In the bottom grid final, the teams fought for the right to stay in the tournament, and on the second map, Lotus Nongshim RedForce won, but they needed to win 22 rounds to do so.

It should be noted that despite the great efforts that Nongshim RedForce made to win and stay in the tournament, it did not help them. In the very next match, they lost to TALON and left the event.

TSM vs. Gen.G Esports - 44 rounds

One of the most famous longest meetings took place back in 2021, during the Valorant Champions Tour North America Stage 3: Challengers 2. Then TSM met Gen.G and the second Split map lasted for 44 rounds. This game is special because at that time, the game mode did not provide for more than 40 rounds, and therefore, right at the time of the 20:20 score, the organizers ended the game manually and started it over so that the teams could finish the game. That is why you can see only the 20:20 score on the screenshot of the statistics from the vlr.gg website.

Fnatic vs. M3 - 44 rounds

As a result of 44 intense rounds, Fnatic still won, which allowed them to move on and eventually take 3rd place in the tournament.

FunPlus Phoenix vs. forZe - 46 rounds

It's EMEA again and 2021, namely the third stage of the Valorant Champions Tour Stage 3: EMEA Challengers. As part of the lower playoff grid of the stage, the Chinese team FunPlus Phoenix met with the little-known team forZe, lost 0:2 and left the tournament.  However, the peculiarity of this match was that the Phoenix closed the first map without any problems with a score of 13:4, and on the second map Bind, the teams fought for 48 rounds and eventually forZe won, which allowed them to win the match and throw out more famous opponents from the tournament.

BBL Esports vs. FUT Esports - 48 rounds

The newest match in our list was held just a few days ago as part of the VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1. In the first match of the fifth week, BBL Esports met FUT Esports, and the fight turned out to be incredibly intense. On the first Ascent map, neither team planned to give up, and as a result, it ended only after 48 rounds.

Interestingly, officially, this match is considered the longest within the VCT league, as the organizers reported on their social media and congratulated BBL Esports on the victory. But despite the fact that this match is the longest in the VCT, it is not the last one on our list.

Reject vs. CREST GAMING Zst - 54 rounds

As we said above, we have a couple of the longest matches to come, although they are no longer part of the VCT league. The first of them was held between Reject and CREST GAMING Zst as part of the Japanese qualifiers at Red Bull Home Ground #5. On the third Haven map, the teams fought so hard for a place in the tournament that they played as many as 54 rounds, which made them the record holders.

CREST GAMING Zst won this match, but despite such a hard-fought victory, they still failed to qualify for the main tournament.

B4 Esports vs. No2B e-Sports - 58 rounds

Our list closes with a match that is very far from the VCT scene, and it took place during the closed qualifiers for the Tier 2 tournament First Strike: Brazil. Although the teams in this match are little known, it holds the record for the number of rounds, so we couldn't help but talk about it.
