Ubisoft officially released Rainbow Six Siege X

Today, June 10, 2025, Ubisoft officially released the long-awaited major update, Siege X, marking the beginning of a new era for Rainbow Six Siege. This update marks the start of the second season of Year 10 (Y10S2) and brings significant changes — from free access to the main modes to a brand new Dual Front mode, updated maps, and a massive rebalancing of operators.

Players can now immerse themselves in the updated world of Siege, where improved graphics, sound, and gameplay mechanics create a unique experience for both veterans and newcomers. Of particular note is the free Dual Front mode (6v6), which promises to diversify tactical possibilities and become a new battleground for e-sports competitions.

What has changed in the game?

  • Free-to-play: The main modes of Siege are now available for free, which significantly expands the audience. Owners of the full version receive exclusive rewards — Veteran Rewards. More details about f2p can be found in our article.
  • New Dual Front mode: A 6v6 tactical mode with respawn mechanics and new objectives.
  • Updated maps: Chalet, Bank, and others have been redesigned with new interactive elements.
  • Gameplay changes: New gadget mechanics, improved sound with two quality modes, and modified sprinting during repelling.

Operator rebalancing and cosmetics

Siege X also introduced important balance changes: Clash received a new shield mechanic that changes the style of play, while Jackal, Thunderbird, and other operators have had their abilities reworked.

Cosmetic updates have not been left out either — there is the Bravo Y10 pack, filled with forgotten or unavailable cosmetic items from the first to sixth years of Siege.

Ubisoft is responding quickly to player feedback by releasing an addendum to the Y10S2 patch with bug fixes and optimizations. The current season was tested on closed servers, where Ubisoft gathered community feedback before releasing fixes for accumulated issues.

Future Plans

Ubisoft has already announced many changes in the Year 10 Roadmap, including upcoming updated maps, a new operator, and many other updates. Starting today, players will be able to receive Twitch Drops and TikTok Drops. On June 17, 2025, the Paragon Skin for MPX Valkyrie will be released, transforming the weapon into a sword. This is just the beginning, and Ubisoft has a lot of exciting things planned for the coming months.
