Ubisoft Releases Y10S2 Patch Update

Ubisoft has released an additional patch note for the Y10S2.0 update in Rainbow Six Siege, highlighting the correction of numerous critical bugs and optimizing the game across various platforms. But this isn't just a technical update—it's a significant overhaul that will impact the usual gameplay experience of millions of users.

The current season was tested on closed servers, where Ubisoft collected feedback from the community. The game had accumulated a number of issues—from disappearing elements during play to crashes due to graphical settings. Performance was also a focal point—many players had to contend with low FPS or stuttering due to features like AMD FSR 2.0.

Full List of Improvements

The Y10S2.0 update will be available on all major platforms at 16:00 CEST. The patch size varies: on Steam — 32.3 GB (with Ultra HD textures — 39.1 GB), on Ubisoft Connect — 51.9 GB (91.53 GB with UHD), and on consoles — from 37.6 to 57.6 GB.

Key fixes include:

  • Technical Stability: crashes fixed under certain settings, particularly when using 4x Anti-Aliasing or during respawn with a drone.
  • Gameplay: fixed issues with chat inaccessibility for players outside the US, disappearing equipment during hostage rescue, ineffective EMP grenades in team clashes, and bugs when interacting with objects (barricades, defuser, Prisma).
  • UI and UX: removed unnecessary free-look prompt, fixed lobby bugs, incorrect BU-Gi Ram texture display, and issues with AAR after squad leader departure.
  • Balance and Realism: for example, Ace's explosives no longer bypass electrified walls, and fire extinguisher effects after Oryx's dash no longer disappear without a trace.

This patch is not just seasonal cosmetics. It's a systemic update focusing on stability, performance, and fair gameplay. In the world of esports, where every millisecond counts, such changes can impact tournament outcomes and player rankings. This update signals that Ubisoft is listening to the community, meaning future seasons could become even more balanced, convenient, and fair for all players.
