Two Brazilian teams paiN and Team 9z played in the lower group stage match at IEM Cologne 2024. Both teams made it out of the Play-In stage and sadly one of them will leave the tournament.
Pre-match details
The teams have already met twice in the last 3 months at RES Regional Series 4 LATAM and FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals. The former was won by paiN with a score of 2-1, while the latter was won by 9z.
This time the situation was the same as at the last FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals, where the loser leaves the tournament in the group stage, also Group A.

Match Details
The first map was Anubis, the choice of paiN, who played well enough in the first half and ended it with a close score of 7-5 in their favor, but in the second half for their strong attacking side, their game did not go well and they lost the map with a score of 13-11.
The second map was Dust 2, choice 9z, where the first half ended the same way as the first 7-5 in favor of paiN. But this time paiN pushed to the end and managed to win with a score of 13-8, securing Nuke. Which was played 1 time in the previous matches and was won by paiN.
PaiN started the map with complete domination entering the 7-0 lead, amongst which they showed very good play. 9z managed to take a round and it looked like they would continue to gain rounds further, but no miracle happened and they lost the half with a resounding score of 10-2. In the second half, 9z started to get back into the game with confidence, bringing the score to 12-9, but alas, they gave away the last round, losing 13-9.
Best Player of the Match
The best player of the match was Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt, who had a great series. He finished the game with a 6.7 rating and a 50-48 K/D statistic.
Next match
In the next match of the tournament paiN will play with The MongolZ for a place in the lower grid final, where a place in the playoffs of the tournament will be played. In turn, 9z sensationally leave the tournament in last place, earning $10,000.
