OG knocked HEROIC out of the BLAST Fall Showdown - sAw on the reasons for the loss and missed opportunities

OG sensationally knocked HEROIC out of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown with a 2-0 victory in the opening series. This result came as a surprise to many, considering that HEROIC were considered the favorites in the match. However, Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard and Christian “Buzz” Andersen breathed new life into an OG lineup that had previously struggled in matches against top teams.

The addition of the new players to the OG roster proved to be a turning point for the team. Now, with a new captain in MOUZ NXT, the Dane shows that the team is capable of more: after a successful performance in the European Open Qualifier for IEM Rio, they continue to go strong, knocking HEROIC out of the Showdown.

HEROIC's failures continue

For HEROIC, this defeat was another in a string of setbacks compounded by visa problems for Abdul “degster” Gasanov. After a series of disappointing results, including elimination from Play-in IEM Cologne and a group stage loss at YaLLa Compass, this defeat adds to the overall picture of the team's instability. HEROIC continue to struggle to get back on track, but so far the results suggest they are far from their best form.

Series Assessment

The match against OG was not an easy one for HEROIC. “It was a tough match, and honestly, we just didn't wake up on the first map,” admitted a disappointed Eetu ‘sAw’ Saha in the post-match interview. “We weren't fully prepared, mentally, people couldn't find solutions. Almost everything we did was out of our control and they were able to punish us for that.” He emphasized that the team suffered from a lack of coordination and gap awareness, which was evident throughout the series.

The first half was particularly tough on Anubis, where HEROIC lost 2-10 to the T side. “We just couldn't get into the game and OG completely dominated. This defeat was too much to overcome despite our efforts to recover in the second half,” added sAw. At Nuke, the situation was repeated with a disappointing 1-8 start and although HEROIC tried to bounce back, it was not enough to reach overtime.

Conclusion

For OG, this victory marks the beginning of a new phase, while HEROIC has some serious work to do to correct mistakes and rebuild team spirit. This result confirms that there is no room for error in CS and every decision on the map can be decisive. “It's very disappointing to drop out so quickly, especially after Cologne, where we got extra time for training and now we can't show anything by going out so fast,” concluded sAw.
