Monte defeated Quixal, which includes the Ukrainian player kiy0o, and advanced to a match where a victory would secure them a spot in the RES European Masters Fall 2024 playoffs.
The match was a BO1 format, played on Mirage. Monte started on the defense, showing incredible gameplay and finishing the half with an 11-1 score, securing a significant lead for the second half. However, Quixal managed to win the pistol round and took a series of 5 rounds, reducing the score to 11-7. Nonetheless, Monte eventually finished the game with a 13-10 victory, after Quixal had won 10 rounds.
Their next match will be against the winner of the 1WIN and AMKAL pair. The winner of this match will advance to the playoffs and compete for a coveted slot at the BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024. Aurora and B8 have already advanced to the playoffs from Group A, and if Monte wins their next match, they will face B8 in the semifinals.
Thanks to this victory, Monte broke their streak of five consecutive losses. This tournament is their last this season, making it crucial for them.
