And here's what the bracket for this very open qualifier to the tournament looked like:
As a result of all this, the team with a massive salary (preliminary data suggests that player salaries in EG could reach up to $10,000) lost to a mix of friends and twice blew their chance to advance to the main qualification stage.
Now, all the participating teams in the closed qualifiers are known:
- Complexity Gaming
- Nouns Esports
- M80
- Forsaken
It should be noted that only one team from the closed qualifiers will make it to the tournament, and there is no prize pool for the qualifiers.
Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 will take place from October 16th to October 22nd, 2023. The championship prize pool amounts to $250,000. A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament, and the winner will receive a direct invitation to IEM Katowice 2024
