PGL has officially announced its return to Krakow in 2027 with a top-level tournament. The competition will take place from 13 to 25 January at the legendary TAURON Arena, which hosted the landmark PGL Major Kraków 2017.

The organizers of PGL Kraków 2027 have announced that TAURON Arena has unexpectedly canceled the booking of the tournament scheduled for January 13-25, 2027. This decision is due to the fact that the Municipality of Krakow has confirmed the hosting of another event in January for the next three years (2026, 2027 and 2028).

TAURON Arena officially stated:

“We have received confirmation from the Municipality of Krakow that the city will host and co-organize the cyclical event in January for the next three years. Unfortunately, we have to cancel your reservation.”

This came as a blow to PGL and Counter-Strike fans who were looking forward to the return of the major tournament to Krakow. PGL Major Krakow 2017 was a historic moment for esports, and the organizers wanted to repeat its success.

However, PGL confirmed that the tournament will still take place on the scheduled dates. They are currently looking for a new arena to host the competition.

“It's very disappointing, but we are not backing down. We are already working to find a new arena that recognizes the importance of esports and creates the best conditions for players and fans,” PGL said.
