Counter-Strike 2 has received an eagerly anticipated update, which has resolved a number of issues with sound, jumping, and the synchronization of shooting between the server and client. Pro players are satisfied with the update.
Update text for November 9
Gameplay
- The visual and sound feedback of the sub-tick, including movement acceleration and the flash of a shot, will now always be displayed on the next frame.
- Random numbers used in shooting are now synchronized between clients and servers by default. As a result, tracers and decals more accurately match trajectories determined by the server.
- Fixed a bug where pressing a movement key immediately after jumping led to varying jump heights.
Matchmaking
- Groups of four players can now play in Premier mode.
- Solo players now have immunity from being kicked if they are in a team with a group of four players
- Adjusted the CS rating recovery algorithm after a period of inactivity in Premier mode
Audio
- Fixed the maximum distance at which grenade bounces are audible.
- Improved occlusion filter quality.
- Resolved an issue where enemy headshot sounds could sometimes be mistakenly perceived as incoming damage.
- Reduced the loudness of an unprotected headshot from the victim's point of view, to align it with the loudness of other headshot sounds.
- Changed the sounds of jump landings to match the maximum distance of footstep sounds.
- Adjusted the volume falloff curve for jump landing sounds to better convey distance.
- Improved the effects of extinguishing a Molotov cocktail so that they sound better when multiple burning sounds are played at once.
- Restored the audible signal when a defuse is interrupted due to the player's rotation.
- Fixed an error with the death groan, which could be mistakenly perceived as outgoing damage.
- Fixed cases where the M4A1-S without a silencer had no sounds.
Maps
Mirage:
- Fixed clipping on the benches in "carpets".
- Reduced the height of the boxes at point A to match CS:GO.
Effects
- Improved blood effects at close range.
- Improved visibility of the bomb light from its backside.
- Reduced muzzle flash when quickly switching rifles with scopes.
- Reduced visibility of the HUD effect after a series of five kills.
CSTV
- Added the “tv_record_immediate” parameter, which controls when the CSTV demo file begins recording. If enabled, content will start at the moment the tv_record command is initiated on the server. If disabled, content with tv_delay will start earlier.
- CSTV demos can now be recorded without enabling CSTV delay viewing. Requires setting “tv_record_immediate 1” and executing “tv_record” at the moment recording should start.
Miscellaneous
- Adjusted the wear values of certain stickers to better match CS:GO.
- Fixed a workshop tool issue that sometimes prevented Light_environment from creating static shadows.
- Improved the quality of the HDR rendering mode – “Performance”.
- Enabled Workshop map downloading for the "Wingman" mode.
Esports Athletes' Opinion
Mostly, the patch was received positively by pro players. After all, the issue with movement registration was very important in the competitive scene.

EliGE also enthusiastically welcomed the update. According to him, shooting with sprays should now be better thanks to the synchronization between the server and client.
Can’t wait to solo Q again and not get vote kicked thank you ❤️ good update

YouTuber FURIOUSSS is still waiting for Valve to return the ability to switch to the left hand, but unfortunately, that did not happen today.

MOVEMENT KEYS + JUMP register on the next tick (registering on next frame like they said) Actually nice AF and happy with a lot of the additions.
Tracers matching up should also help more people feel better with their spray including me 😍🔥 pic.twitter.com/gxbRL8dqIL
Recall that Valve previously shared plans for the future in an interview with PC Gamer. There, the developers mentioned that the sprays in CS2 had been made as similar as possible to shooting on 128-tick servers in CS:GO.
