The controversial tournament organizer IESF announced on Twitter today that the IESF World Championship 2024 will be held in Saudi Arabia!
IESF:
It's official!
Saudi Arabia will be the epicenter of esports in 2024, hosting the 16th World Championships!
Mark it in your calendars!
We would like to remind you that the IESF World Championship 2023 has recently ended, which was incredibly corrupt and not suitable for the participants to play. Read more about it here.
After that, during the tournament itself, the IESF allowed Russian players to participate in its competitions and also allowed them to play under its flag. This, of course, caused a storm of emotions.

After that, the UESF (Ukrainian Esports Federation) refused to participate in the tournament, and their petition was supported by 13 other countries. Read more about it here.
Nevertheless, the Swedish National Team became the champions of the IESF World Championship 2023, they won $50,000, and a player of the Jackinho team took a picture with the cup near the trash cans after winning the IESF World Championship!
The famous Ukrainian analyst Oleksandr "petr1k" Petryk reacted to this whole situation with Saudi Arabia in the following way:
Next year, the world championships from our beloved IESF will be held in Saudi Arabia. What a combo! The sheikhs will give their millions to the national team tournaments, the Romanian president of the IESF and his friends will steal even more for themselves, the Russians will come to play in peace, and Armin van Buuren will perform his set at the closing ceremony. Ukraine will probably be the only country to ignore this. Esports is getting closer to a Saudi monopoly. And further away from what we would like to see.
The date and venue are not yet known, as well as the prize pool. We also don't know how much money the owners are going to launder.
