Grilled chicken, buffed Desert Eagle, and updated maps: the list of new features in CS2

On the night of June 7, Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2, which significantly changed the game interface and replaced the Dust2 map with Mirage. In addition to this and other minor changes, users found several new features in the updated shooter.

Grilled chicken

After the last update in CS2, when a chicken enters the Molotov Cocktail area, it turns into a delicious grilled chicken. Chickens are instantly fried when they hit the fire, and after that, they appear like a ready-made dish: the carcasses are neatly folded and even decorated with a sprig of rosemary.

Desert Eagle buff

Desert Eagle's area of hitting bullets during the chaotic shooting has changed. The scatter now follows a definite pattern rather than random chaos. The spray pattern starts from the bottom and gradually rises upwards during random firing from the Desert Eagle. An example of the new scatter can be found here.

Updated Anubis and Inferno

Six screenshots of the updated Anubis map were found, which show two bomb plants and other strategic positions on the map. In addition, a duplicate image of the Inferno map was found in the game files. Players assumed that the screenshot showed the starting spawn of the attacking team.

Fixed texture hitbox on Mirage map

Counter-Strike 2 has a new feature that allows you to shoot through metal grates installed in "screws" and "ladders" near the "window" on the Mirage map. Thus, Valve improved hitboxes for textures, which was not in CS:GO. In the previous version of the game, the metal grids at these positions were destroyed on the Source engine, even when shooting at open areas.

The full list of changes can be found here. Earlier, a possible release date for CS 2 was revealed in the trailer from Valve. You can read more about it in this article.
