Why is BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 the last in the history of CS:GO?
On March 22, Valve announced Counter-Strike 2 — a free update of the legendary shooter, which will transfer it to the Source 2 engine and partially change the gameplay. New features of CS2, such as reworked smoke, a new tickrate system, and updated maps, can be studied here. The official release is planned for the summer of 2023.
Shortly after CS2 was announced, Valve announced that BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 would be the last major in CS:GO history. The next championship of this scale will be held on Counter-Strike 2 in March 2024 in Denmark, and PGL will be the organizer. All information about this is available here.
BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 will be held from May 8 to 21 in Paris, France. Teams will compete for a prize fund of $1.25 million.
