"Fnatic is making Valorant history," Alfajer discusses the team and the upcoming World Championship

Recently, the news portal Dexerto interviewed 18-year-old Turkish player of Fnatic, Alfajer. In the interview, he mentioned that the team is fully prepared for the upcoming Valorant Champions 2023 and plans to make a mark in the game's history.

The European squad is currently at its peak. Since the beginning of the season, Fnatic has won 2 major tournaments, VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo and VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo. However, the team doesn't plan to stop here as they are gearing up for the grand event, Valorant Champions 2023, where the winner will hold the champion title for the entire next year. Alfajer is calm about the upcoming championship and says that thanks to the two victories this season, the team is fully prepared to win for the third time.

We've already won twice, so we're just comfortable now.

Alfajer also talked about which teams he would like to meet at the upcoming championship. He plans to face the current world champions, LOUD, who might not have shown a stellar performance at the last Masters Tokyo but, in his opinion, remain among the top three teams globally. Alfajer would also like to play against Paper Rex, as their main player from Singapore had visa issues, but everything eventually got sorted out, and Paper Rex will participate in Valorant Champions 2023 with a full roster.

I want to play against Paper Rex and LOUD. LOUD just lost two matches and were eliminated from Tokyo, but I believe they still rank among the top three strongest teams right now. Also, I want to play against Paper Rex because their player now has a visa.

Toward the end, Alfajer was asked about fans' opinions comparing Fnatic in Valorant to esports dynasties like Astralis in CS:GO or T1 in League of Legends. The player disagreed with this notion, as new tournaments constantly emerge in Valorant, and Fnatic's trophy count is not yet sufficient. However, he highlighted that the team would do everything necessary for the gaming community to regard Fnatic as the best.

No, no, no, we're not at the level to be considered a dynasty yet. But I think we are going to make history in Valorant, and everyone will say, in 2023 Fnatic was the best. And for the past 10 years, Fnatic was the best.

We remind you that the team's first group stage match in Valorant Champions 2023 is against ZETA DIVISION. You can follow the match and the entire tournament on our website, which will be continuously updated based on the tournament's events.
