ENCE, a team that recently underwent significant roster changes, advanced to the final of the Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 after defeating The MongolZ in the semifinals. This success surprised many, as the revamped team under the leadership of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander was just recently formed, and this tournament marked their debut.

Of particular interest is the fact that ENCE's roster recently included young talents Ryan "Neityu" Aubry and Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara, who previously played for MOUZ NXT and Young Ninjas respectively. Despite this being their first tournament with the new lineup, ENCE already showcased strong results, defeating 9z and playing a tense series against HEROIC before securing victory over The MongolZ.

Background of Events

The semifinal series began on the Anubis map, chosen by ENCE. The European team managed to gain a 7-5 advantage on the attacking side but temporarily lost momentum after The MongolZ won the pistol round. However, the team led by gla1ve quickly regained control, winning six consecutive rounds in the second half and closing the map with a final score of 13-8.

On their map Mirage, The MongolZ delivered an incredible performance, dominating the first half with an impressive 11-1 score on the attack. ENCE could only respond with a single round as The MongolZ confidently finished the map 13-1.

The third map Ancient seemed to be a winning one for The MongolZ, especially after their confident play on Mirage. However, ENCE surprised spectators and opponents once again, starting their defense with a strong push and taking the lead 8-1. Despite The MongolZ's attempts to make a comeback by the end of the first half, ENCE remained in the lead and closed the map with a score of 13-8, securing their place in the final.
