Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski is one of the most well-known and experienced players on the professional CS scene. During his long career he managed to play in such famous teams as Virtus.pro and mousesports, where he repeatedly proved his effectiveness and leadership qualities. Recently he has been playing with GamerLegion, one of his biggest achievements was a 3-4th place finish at the CCT Global Finals behind Turkish Eternal Fire, who won the tournament.

Exclusively for our site, Ukrainian CS legend Arseny "ceh9" Trynozhenko shared his opinion:
I believe that this is a complete failure. There are a lot of young and experienced players on the market now, and the team takes a veteran who should have left the game long ago and become a coach. It might work for the short term, but it won't make a difference in the long run.
Arseny "ceh9" Trynozhenko's career ended in 2013. After a two-year hiatus, he decided to become a commentator and now works in the Ukrainian Maincast studio. During his extensive career ceh9 has played against many teams, but most often it was Snax and TaZ against whom he played 7 times with only one victory.
That victory was a match between Natus Vincere and UniversalSoldiers, in which Snax and TaZ played. The match took place as part of the RaidCall EMS One Fall 2013 Finals tournament in October 2013. The teams met on the Dust2 map and the match ended with a score of 31-28 in favour of ceh9.
The game was tense and full of dramatic moments. Both teams played two halves with a score of 11-4 going to extra halves where they played a very long match. Twenty-nine rounds were played to find out who would be the winner of the match. Ceh9 for that game, excelled in head-to-head shootouts against Snax and TaZ with a score of 9:7.

HooXi has made some contributions to the G2 team. Before we discuss his replacement, it's important to look at his stats during his time with the team, his rating was 5.3 in 6 months of playing in the squad:
Comparing the two players will help to better understand what we can expect from the new G2 squad formation. It is important to look at their key performance indicators to see how a change in captain can affect the team's results.
Whether the replacement of Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen with Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski will be justified, we will find out at Esports World Cup 2024, which will be held in LAN format from 17 to 21 July in Riyadh with a prize pool of $1,000,000. This tournament will bring together the best of the best, and each team will be looking to showcase their best. Teams such as NAVI, FaZe, Vitality and many more are among the participants of the tournament.
Changing captains in CS teams has always been a risky move. Sometimes it leads to instant success, as was the case with Astralis when they replaced their captain and began to dominate the world stage. Other times, like with FaZe in 2019, replacing the captain didn't bring the desired results and the team continued to struggle.
Thus, replacing the captain in G2 Esports is a major move that can both take the team to new heights or lead to further problems. However, it will be interesting to see how the revamped squad performs at the Esports World Cup to see how this change will affect one of the most popular teams on the CS scene.
