BeYN leaves the club and prepares for a new chapter in his career

Roster reshuffles continue in the Pacific region with the latest news of a player departure. This time, the Korean club DRX announced that main roster player BeYN is stepping down to the bench.

The team manager shared on the official X page (formerly Twitter):

Starting today, we have mutually agreed to terminate the contract with Kang Ha-bin (BeYN), making him a free agent. We would like to once again thank BeYN for his passion and hard work, which saw him rise from a trainee to a pro player with DRX. We wish him success in the future.

Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin is a young Korean player who began his Valorant career in 2021 as a trainee for Vision Strikers before signing with DRX. Despite the long-term partnership, BeYN hadn’t appeared in the club’s official tournaments until 2022, when he first competed with the team’s academy lineup at UTAGE VALORANT Season 5, where they finished in 2nd place.

Most of BeYN time was spent on the bench or playing on loan with teams like All Gamers and Maru Gaming. He only made his debut on the main stage in 2024 as a part of DRX main roster. The team’s 4th and 2nd place finishes at VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1 and Stage 2 earned them a spot at VALORANT Champions 2024. Despite a loss in the lower bracket of VALORANT Champions 2024, the young player gained valuable experience that will aid his career development.

It’s not yet clear which club BeYN will join next. However, last month a greeting from the Korean club Shadow Corporation was noticed on his Twitter page. No official statements have been made yet, but we’ll soon find out about BeYN future in the Valorant esports scene.
