Astralis confidently defeated Falcons 2-1 in Group A of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024. The expectations before the match were high, because Falcons coach, zonic, is a former Astralis coach.
Pre-match details
This was the 3rd meeting between the teams in the last year, with Astralis winning the last two times. Last time the teams played each other in the opening match of Group B, this time they met in the final of the lower set.
There are also two interesting facts before the match, namely that zonic was a coach in that legendary Astralis squad, but at that time he was not the captain, but maybe he knows his style. And also the current Falcons lineup features former device teammates, Magisk and dupreeh.
Match Details
The first map of the match was Dust 2, which was the choice of the Falcons, who had no problems on it and ended the first half 7-5. They had little trouble in the second half where they ended the half with a mirror score of 5-7. The extra rounds went easily for Falcons and they won the first map with a score of 16-13, getting one step closer to victory.
The second map of the match was Ancient, the choice of Astralis, who showed great play and finished the map with a resounding 13-1 score. Despite the loss, Falcons managed to pick up a card against Astralis for the first time in 3 matches. Also despite the loss in the match, Emil "Magisk" Reif showed a great game, who finished the game with a pretty good rating of 7.6, at the age of 26.
Situation in the group
Astralis' victory allowed them to advance to the final of Group B, where they will meet Team Vitality. Falcons, meanwhile, left the tournament in 9th-12th place, earning them $8,500 and a spot at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024.

BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark at the BLAST Studio Arena. The tournament has a prize pool of $190,000 , and 16 partner teams are participating. The tournament started on July 29, 2024 and will run until August 4, 2024.
Prize money:
- 1st-4th place: $22,500 and qualification to the Fall Final
- 5th-6th place: $12,500 and qualification to the Fall Final
- 7th-8th place: $10,500 and qualification for the Fall Showdown
- 9th-12th place: $8,500 and qualify for Fall Showdown
- 13-16th place: $5,000 and qualification for the Fall Showdown
The tournament is also the last major tournament before invitations to the closed qualifiers for RMR are issued. Invitations will be issued on August 7, a couple days after the tournament ends. And in case of a good place at it, the team has the opportunity to move up the rankings.
