A course advertising partner from s1mple has claimed he was ripped off - and given his evidence

No sooner had the courses from s1mple finished than a TikTok user with the nickname VALVESINTERN, who has 100 thousand subscribers, claims that he was cheated out of 700 dollars for advertising the project. VALVESINTERN made six promotional videos but did not receive the promised payment.

PlayLikeS1mple's course and its problems

Previously, s1mple launched its own player education course called PlayLikeS1mple. All-Stars Promotion was the promoter of the course. However, it was recently revealed that the free access to the course was closed, which raised questions and suspicions from the community.

Also, a certain number of users who bought subscriptions to private material started receiving refunds without any notification.

Details and allegations

In the ohnePixel community on Platform X, VALVESINTERN shared his experience:

Scammed by PlayLikeS1mple. Hi everyone, I want to share my experience with s1mple's CS2 course and the company behind it, All-Stars Promotion. I was hired to promote the course on my 100k ticktock, but I never received the promised payment. I made a total of 6 promotional ticktocks, which I spent a lot of effort to create, on agreement for 700USD. The last video was posted in the middle of June, and since then I have not received any responses from the team.

VALVESINTERN emphasized that he does not hold s1mple responsible for the situation. He said, “I want to emphasize that it's probably not s1mple's fault, but the company that handles the course, All-Stars Promotion.” VALVESINTERN also attached screenshots of their correspondence and transaction, adding that he hopes the situation is resolved.

In response to the allegations, a user with the nickname Satoshi commented that the lack of a written contract makes the payment demands legally questionable. VALVESINTERN himself admitted as much:

I mean, I realize that legally my case may not be very secure, and that's stupid of me, but I've done so many successful deals on Discord where the other “insecure” party always paid, and once I found this, in my opinion, reputable client, I had no doubt that they wouldn't pay.

Questions for All-Stars Promotion and s1mple

At this time, there are no sources confirming s1mple's own comments about PlayLikeS1mple's course and the situation with All-Stars Promotion. It is also unknown whether this is just one person who was cheated out of a promotion fee or several. The event itself emphasizes the need for formal contracts and transparency in advertising and promotion deals in cybersports.
