9z CEO Explains CS2 Roster Changes

9z is undergoing another transformation: rumors suggest the organization will sign Brazilians Levi and urban0 from ex-W7M. They are expected to replace Spaniard Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez, who was previously reported to be close to joining Gentle Mates, and Romanian Adam "adamS" Marian, who will leave the team upon contract completion.

The European Experiment: Costly and Ineffective

The club's CEO Francisco Postiglione explained the reasons behind the upcoming changes and the organization's current position in an interview with the portal Dust2.br. According to the CEO, integrating European players did not justify the financial investments or meet sports expectations. To retain foreign players, 9z had to open a separate company in Spain, pay taxes in two countries, and cover relocation and living expenses. However, as Francisco admitted, the results on the server did not match the resources spent.

We spent significant funds on adapting and paying Europeans, but the results were not sufficient. Economically, it became too costly for us

MartinezSa's Departure

Regarding MartinezSa, 9z did receive a transfer offer for him, but according to Francisco, it was "too cheap" relative to the investments made in the player. The club's management did not intend to part with him before the contract ended. However, the Spaniard himself showed interest in a new challenge and requested to be released, which became the catalyst for the roster changes.

The team did not initiate these changes. It was a request from the player himself.

adamS Leaves by Mutual Agreement

Unlike MartinezSa, the situation with Romanian adamS was simpler — his contract is nearing its end, and both parties have already agreed to part ways. Francisco noted that maintaining a European player requires retaining a Spanish legal entity and double taxation, which 9z is no longer willing to bear. Moreover, adamS himself does not plan to stay in Argentina, making continued cooperation impossible.

To keep him, we would have to pay salaries and taxes in two countries. It's too expensive. Adam partly agrees with this — he doesn't want to play in Argentina.

Future 9z Roster

According to existing rumors, 9z plans to revert to a fully South American lineup. It may include:

A final decision on the new players has yet to be made, but Francisco confirmed interest in former W7M players:

I spoke with several teams, and I liked the guys from W7M the most.

For 9z, this is not just another reshuffle but a strategic pivot. The team, which previously aimed for international experience, realized the complexity of integration and the high cost of operating on two continents. Returning to a South American lineup could not only simplify logistics and reduce expenses but also strengthen the chemistry within the team.
